The ancient Fattoria Franceschini in Lecore (Florence) opens its doors to show its collections that will be auctioned at the Maison Bibelot from 1 to 14 October. During the three days of exhibition it will be possible to admire the splendid collection of paintings from Villa I Pitti, the historic residence of the homonymous family, which in the past belonged to the current owners of the farm. In addition to the numerous portraits, both of the Medici and Pitti families, six unpublished paintings by Giuseppe Zocchi will be presented, recently published by Prof. Sandro Bellesi in a catalog dedicated to the Masters of the Eighteenth Century. These architectural whims were carried out for Villa I Pitti to adorn the doors of a hall, to which they are still applied today. From Villa I Pitti also come some pairs of lacquered and gilded wooden consoles, some of which with splendid tops in Medici breccia and other important furnishings including a refined fireplace in white Carrara marble attributed to Stefano Ricci.
As in all House Sale, in addition to historical furnishings, an infinite variety of curiosities and objects from other times are present at auction that will delight fans and collectors.
